I am a painter, but I am also an interior architect and designer. I have always believed that interior space design is an experiential event in someone’s life that affects their moods and emotions. And bringing nature into a space, in the form of artwork, is one of the best ways to connect with people’s emotions.
I aim to capture the essence of the emotions I see in of the natural spaces around us, with landscapes as well as meadow and garden flowers. I tend to paint in a more abstract illustrative style as I focus on capturing the colors, light, movement, flow, and wind seen in nature rather than realistic detail. My medium is usually acrylic paint, and my process involves applying many layers to achieve depth. My intent is to show the viewer how much I love nature, and how it makes me feel, simply, happy.
I create paintings in which the viewer feels like they are emersed in the scene; they are physically immersed in the vitality of the life-giving force. I explore the emotion that is emitted, and the one that I feel. I aim to provide an overall sense of wonder, wellbeing and hope.
My studio is a sanctuary where I lose myself in the world of colors and textures, and each piece I create is a labor of love. In fact, each painting is a “vacation” from the real world. Art has the power to transform the human spirit, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to share that transformation with the world.
