The Cherry Gallery is the home for visual arts at the Cherry Arts, Ithaca’s west end multi-arts hub. Located on Cherry Street on the banks of the Cayuga Inlet, the Cherry Gallery presents exhibitions throughout the year spanning sculpture, painting, audio, video, and interactive installation.
We also make our spaces available to community members for a variety of uses, including receptions, panels, workshops, and DJ sets.
The Cherry Gallery is located on the ground floor of Ithaca Arthaus, an apartment complex that in part offers supportive housing to young people who have previously been housing insecure. Alongside their public-facing programming, the Cherry Arts offers arts programs to serve folks who live in the Arthaus and their allied communities, including the popular annual Arthaus Residents and Allies Exhibition.
The Cherry Gallery is the long-term home of the West End Diorama, a 64-square foot scale recreation of Ithaca’s West End community circa 1953, before the vibrant working-class neighborhood was largely razed to create the flood control channel.
The Cherry Gallery is operated by the Cherry Arts Inc. The Cherry also hosts rehearsals, workshops, and community events in the multi-use Camilla Schade Studio, adjacent to the Gallery, and programs live performance in the Cherry Artspace, across the parking lot.
