I am a 20 year old artist raised in Ithaca, making oil paintings and murals.

My family moved from China to Ithaca when I was 7 years old and I grew up exploring the woods and creeks of the area which influenced the appreciation for nature (especially birds!!) in my murals. I have deeply appreciated every opportunity I’ve had to create public murals. Not only does painting on a large scale thrill me like nothing else has before, it has been deeply meaningful to discover this new way of connecting with the town and community I grew up in.

My oil paintings are more personal and contemplative. I paint portraits of myself and of imaginary humans, all of which which represent struggles within myself. I am interested in investigating my own frustrations of the struggle between my idealistic eye for beauty and the draining pessimism of mental illness. These paintings are an introspective on my own humanity, and the flaws of it.

Both my paintings and murals are part of my artistic voice and I’m excited to share! I don’t have a studio yet but I hope to continue contributing to the art of Ithaca through my murals!

You can find my murals locally at: Cayuga Place Apartments, Fall Creek House Bar, Beverly J Martin Elementary School, Ooy’s Deli, the Sciencenter, ARQBarn, and hopefully more places to come!
