My works are Objet Trouve’ Assemblages, natural objects in their original state but found and used for their aesthetic, artistic value. Twenty years ago I joined friends on a visit to Long Point State Park on Cayuga Lake where I discovered a plethora of interesting and varied shaped stones. I picked a few hundred, took them home, laid them out and started arranging and fitting them together, creating whimsical human and animals figures that awakened in me childhood experiences of discovery and wonderment. Since I started creating my stone art I have travelled throughout North America and to various parts of the world sharing how common stones, bones, shells can be used to make art that can offer an innovative perspective on seeing our world anew.
