My pottery is thrown on a wheel and highly textured by hand. The repetitive patterns are organic in nature and meditative to create. Visit my studio to see my influences and techniques.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I am a potter and teacher who has been working with clay since I was a teenager in my parent’s basement. Thirty years later, I find my current studio, classroom and gallery space on Main Street in Trumansburg a dream come true.

I continue to fully explore a texturing technique that grew from not only the geometry of Native American potters of the southwest, but as lifelong love of intricate and repetitive patterns. My pottery is three dimensional, so each impression must be made individually to adjust for the changes in surface area. I find the creative process to be meditative and relaxing.

Though highly decorated, my pots are designed to be functional as well as unique works of art. It gives me great pleasure to know that my work is being used and enjoyed as a daily part of people’s lives.
