Dock 6 Studio

South Hill Business Campus is a great example of a renovated industrial building now housing over 50 different businesses and studios. Near Ithaca College, Dock 6 is a loading dock turned into my studio, -- a unique setting for viewing my original fine art prints, artist books, and drawings about places real or imagined.

ADDRESS

Dock 6 Studio, 950 Danby Rd., Suite 52, South Hill Business Campus, Ithaca, NY 14850

STUDIO DIRECTIONS

Take Route 96B up the hill towards Ithaca College. Across the street from the main entrance to Ithaca College, is the entrance to South Hill Business Campus. At the light, drive behind the long building, and park anywhere in the lot. About half way down you will see Dock 6 marked on the outside of the building. Enter the building at the door to the left of Dock 5, climb 4 steps and take the door to your left, then walk to the right through the large double doors, and walk ahead and to your right where you will see a large ramp, and Suite 52, next to Tamarack Design. If you are unable to climb stairs, my work can still be viewed when the dock door is left open—an 18 foot wide sectioned door that opens to the parking lot.

BIO

As co-founder of the Ink Shop Printmaking Center in downtown Ithaca, and current professor of printmaking and drawing at Ithaca College, I create prints and drawings, as well as artist books and installations. My new studio allows me to work on a number of different projects simultaneously, and gives me access to the Clay School ceramic studio down the hall! After earning a BA and MA in visual art with a concentration in printmaking, I had a long hiatus from the printmaking world to raise my two boys, but continued working in pastel and watercolor. But in 1999 a trip to Ireland’s printmaking studios inspired me to start the Ink Shop with a small group of artists. I have been making prints ever since. I earned an MFA two years ago from Lesley University College of Art and Design in Visual Studies. It was a wonderful experience, expanding my notion of what art can be, and how to place myself in the wide world of art practices.

Affiliation with IC I teach beginning, intermediate, advanced drawing, and printmaking at Ithaca College. I also teach workshops at the Ink Shop Printmaking Center, as well as annual or bi-annual workshops with the art teachers and students of South Seneca High School and Ithaca High School.
