I mostly enjoy a more abstract type of photography, brightly
colored and close-up, but find the spectacular Fingerlakes scenery
hard to ignore, especially in Fall. I shoot film and slides, use
Nikon and Hasselblad cameras. I do not alter my images beyond
standard dark-room techniques. The bulk of my work is printed right
here in Ithaca. I mat and frame all my work at my studio at
home.

STUDIO DIRECTIONS
From downtown Ithaca follow Rt. 96 North. Go past Cayuga Medical Center, past Indian Creek Orchards and take a left onto Iradell Road (at the green Ulysses County sign). Take the first left onto Sheffield Road. We're the second mailbox on your left. Our house is 5 miles or 10 minutes driving from the Rt. 96 exit at Rt. 13. The studio is in our yellow with white trim range style home, accessible from the back.
BIOGRAPHY
The first thing I bought as a teenager was a second-hand Pentax SLR camera. At first I viewed things as the biologist in training that I was. After moving to Florida everything changed. I started to document differences between the USA and the Netherlands and landed a solo exhibit at the University of Florida. Soon after that came my first outdoor festival and that was the start of a new career.
I am fortunate to have my husband's help on photo-shoots, at the Ithaca Farmers Market and at over 75 juried fine art festivals in 7 States. I sold my work internationally and displayed in American and Dutch photo contests and gallery exhibits. My artistic fulfillment comes from finding a story, creating the imagery and using traditional printing techniques to enhance the subject of the study. Like my "behind the scenes at PRI" collection, which was exhibited at the prestigious Silver Eye Center for Photography gallery in Pittsburgh, PA.
