Currently I am working on a body of large scale “urban-scapes.” I
also produce small studies or plein-air works, as well as portraits
and commissioned works. Come visit my studio in a recently restored
Arts and Crafts home, to view my current work.

BIOGRAPHY
A native of the Ithaca area, I have recently returned following a
sojourn in San Francisco. While in California I studied both
painting and sculpture at the Academy of Art University. My time
spent in San Francisco has heavily influenced my subject
matter.
In my current series of large urban-oriented paintings, I am
searching to elicit the interplay of personal and distant
relationships in an urban community. While highly representational
on the surface, the paintings all have an abstract beginning as I
search for the abstract forms underneath (shapes and play of the
lights and darks). The abstract forms generate the movement, and
subsequently the mood of the painting. Some of the paintings
portray an intimacy between subject and viewer while others are
presented from a more removed and distant vantage point. All
represent the various depths of personal experiences in an urban
setting.
